I used to hardly notice all the trash on the streets and beaches. Maybe there simply wasn’t as much back then. But ever since I discovered TrashmaidBerlin, I’ve started seeing the world through different eyes... and now I see trash everywhere.

I decided to follow her great example and become part of the solution myself. For the past two years, I’ve more or less adopted the stretch of street and sidewalks between the two cross streets near my home. I clean up there regularly and have already received lots of positive feedback from my neighbours.

Even on beach vacations, I’m no longer just lying around – sometimes I collect plastic waste and then enjoy the (almost) pristine sand even more. The two ghost nets I contributed to the NETWORKING project come from Sicily (Italy) and Kefalonia (Greece).
