UNITED STAR OF EUROPE: DENMARK/DÄNEMARK

My name is Annemette. I started picking up garbage in 2015 and wanted people to join me because if we join forces, we can actually change the world.

I created the project called Halsnæs Affaldshelte/Halsnæs Garbageheroes and based it on good stories, giving praise instead of being negative and giving all kinds of people the freedom to do something good for their local area and nation whenever they feel like it. It has been a huge success and has spread out in Denmark.

I’ve been giving speeches many times about my project, and I’ve been on TV many times, also nationwide where they called my project the most successful in Denmark. Some years ago we won a big prize that made it possible to buy more equipment and engage even more people, also schools and kindergartens.

We can all make a change.
