Looking for a hero who's making a difference in the world?

Look no further than "The Trash Traveler" – an inspiring individual who's been raising awareness about environmental issues in a fun, positive, and creative way since 2019.

It all started when Andreas Noe, a molecular biologist, was out surfing and encountered an overwhelming amount of ocean plastics. Shocked by the state of the ocean, he decided to quit his biomedical career and start taking action. He began picking up plastic, and soon, he was creating fun ukulele songs and awareness videos about plastics and the environment, sharing them on social media.

But that was just the beginning. In 2020, The Trash Traveler embarked on an incredible journey, hiking the coast of Portugal for 58 days, every meter possible on sand, and collecting 1.6 tons of plastic along the way. Along the journey, he connected with more than 70 NGOs and 550 people, spreading the message of caring for the ocean.

The following year, The Trash Traveler called on the community to help set an awareness record, collecting 1.1 million cigarette butts in just two months in Portugal. More than 600 people and numerous NGOs joined in on the adventure, proving that collective action can make a huge impact.

In 2022, The Trash Traveler explored the concept of a circular economy, building a bike entirely out of second-hand bike parts and cycling 2370 km around Portugal to collect plastic bottles. The goal? To gather signatures for a deposit system for bottles and cans.

Along the way, three documentary films resulted about the adventures to ensure that the message would resonate long after the journeys ended.

But The Trash Traveler's adventures don't just involve physical feats. He's also created art pieces in various forms to help increase the impact of his message. Through music, film, and art, he's spreading awareness and inspiring people to take action to protect our planet.

So join The Trash Traveler on his mission to make the world a better place. Follow his adventures on social media and get inspired to take action in your own community. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for generations to come.
